Upper Nina Bivvy is a modest two‑bunk backcountry shelter tucked high in Lake Sumner Conservation Park in Canterbury. Nestled in a clearing above the braided Nina River at around 820 m above sea level, it has been extensively renovated (2018) by the Backcountry Trust. It was given a new roof, exterior paint, a woodshed, upgraded bunks and mattresses, a replaced lining, and a toilet to better support trampers and restoration groups alike.
