Dundas Hut is a six-bunk Forest Service–style hut located at 1,200 metres on the main Tararua Range between Mount Dundas and Pukematawai. It was built in 1961 by the New Zealand Forest Service.. The hut sits in an exposed alpine basin and is often reached via the Dundas Ridge or from Herepai or Cattle Ridge Huts. Its elevated position offers expansive views over the Tararua Range, making it a popular stop for experienced trampers completing multi-day traverses.
